Add a transaction reference

 

The Transaction Reference feature allows you to attach a custom reference to a transaction for easier tracking, reconciliation, and identification. This reference can be used for personal bookkeeping, business reporting, or simply adding context to your payments.

Key Features

  • Attach References: Add a custom reference to individual transactions directly in the app.

  • Visible in History: References are displayed in the transaction details within your app history.

  • Included on Receipts: Any transaction reference is automatically shown on generated receipts for easier record-keeping.

  • Configurable: The feature can be enabled or disabled through your app settings according to your preference.

How to Enable or Disable Transaction References

  1. Open the app and navigate to Settings.

  2. Locate the Transaction settings option.

  3. Toggle the feature On to allow attaching references, or Off to disable it.

Note: When the feature is disabled, you will not be able to add new references to transactions, and existing references will still be visible in the transaction history and receipts.

Adding a Transaction Reference

  1. Go a Enter Amount screen

  2. Enter Transaction amount 

  3. Enter your custom reference

  4. Confirm the transaction by clicking on Charge 

Note: Transaction reference must be 30 characters maximum

It can contain letters, numbers and some special characters : #_@-

Viewing Transaction References

  • Transaction History: Reference can be used to search for a transaction 

  • Receipts: Any receipt generated for a transaction will include the reference for clarity and record-keeping.

FAQ

Q: Can I edit a reference after the transaction is completed?
A: References can only be added or edited before the transaction is finalized. Once completed, the reference is read-only.

Q: Does disabling the feature remove existing references?
A: No, disabling the feature only prevents new references from being added. Existing references remain visible.
