Enable tipping to allow customers to add a gratuity directly on the device before payment.

Configuration Path on Terminals

To manage tip settings, navigate to: Menu → Parameters → Transaction settings → Tips

Setup Options

You can define up to three pre-defined entries using one of two modes:

  • Percentage (%): Buttons display a calculated percentage of the total (e.g., 5%, 10%, 15%).

  • Fixed Amount: Buttons display specific currency values (e.g., €1, €2, €5).

Customer Experience

  1. Selection: Before the payment is processed, the terminal prompts the customer to choose a tip.

  2. Customization: Customers can select a pre-defined button, enter a Custom amount, or choose No Tip.

  3. Payment: The tip is asked before the terminal prompts the customer to present their card. The final total will include the sale plus the selected tip.

Configuration in SPRING

To enable tips, ensure the following settings are configured in SPRING:

  1. Navigate to the relevant checkout type configuration.

  2. Verify that the Tips option is checked (enabled).

  3. Ensure the correct Pay Onsite app version is installed:

    1. Version 4.5.0 or later — required to support tips in Integrated mode
