This guide describes how to switch a Pay On Site terminal from the production environment to the preproduction (test) environment. Which steps you follow depends on what is installed on the terminal: only the NTMS Agent, or both the NTMS Agent and the Pay On Site application. Use the section that matches your setup.

Case 1 — Only the NTMS Agent is installed
Point the NTMS Agent at the preproduction environment, then re-activate the terminal.
- Open the NTMS Agent on the terminal.
- Go to Advanced settings and enter the default password
4315. - Change the NTMS address to the preproduction values shown below.
- Trigger the activation.

Once activation completes, the terminal is registered against the preproduction NTMS.
Case 2 — Both the NTMS Agent and Pay On Site are installed
When Pay On Site is already installed, you must remove it before re-installing it from preproduction. Follow the same NTMS address change as in Case 1, then handle the Pay On Site application during the first activation.
- Change the NTMS address to preproduction and start the first activation, as in Case 1.
- During the first activation, delete the Pay On Site application.
- Once Pay On Site has been removed, re-install it from preproduction.
Warning
Deleting the Pay On Site application currently requires a manual activation on NTMS. This step is not automatic today, so the terminal will not complete re-installation until the manual activation has been carried out on the NTMS side.
Next steps
After the terminal is activated against preproduction, run a test transaction to confirm it is connected to the correct environment. If activation fails or Pay On Site does not re-install, check the NTMS address values above and confirm the manual NTMS activation has been performed.
